Our commitment to you

City Group (“we”, “us”, “our”) values your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal data you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect your personal data when you access or use our website and related services (“Services”).

Information we collect

Our site contains an enquiry form where you can voluntarily provide:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Telephone number
  • Message (free-text enquiry)
  • Newsletter consent (checkbox to opt in to receive marketing emails featuring the latest property listings and special offers)

When you browse our site, we also collect certain technical data (e.g., device and browser information, approximate location derived from IP address, and referral information). Some of this technical data may be collected through cookies or similar technologies, but only where you have provided consent as described in the “Cookies & tracking technologies” section below.

Legal bases for processing

  • Contract / pre-contractual steps – responding to your enquiry and communicating with you about properties or services you requested.
  • Consent – sending newsletters and enabling optional analytics and marketing cookies (you may withdraw at any time).
  • Legitimate interest – safeguarding and improving our website, preventing fraud/abuse, and maintaining the security of our systems (where applicable and balanced against your rights).
  • Legal obligation – where we must comply with applicable laws and regulations.

How we use information

We use the personal data described above to:

  • Respond to and manage your enquiry.
  • Send you service-related communications and, where you have opted in, marketing newsletters.
  • Improve the security, performance and user experience of our site.
  • Generate anonymous or aggregated statistics regarding site usage (where you have consented to analytics cookies).
  • Contact you by telephone from our office to follow up on your enquiry (where relevant to your request).

How long we keep information

Enquiry records are retained for 12 months after our last communication, then deleted or anonymised. Newsletter subscription data is kept until you unsubscribe (and we may keep a minimal suppression record to ensure we respect your opt-out). Where analytics is enabled by consent, analytics data is retained in accordance with the settings in our analytics platform, typically up to 14 months, then deleted or aggregated.

Sharing of information

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only:

  • When you have asked or consented for us to do so.
  • With trusted service providers (e.g., hosting, CRM, email platforms) who act on our instructions and under confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
  • To comply with a legal obligation or protect our rights, property or safety.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of all or part of our business (subject to appropriate safeguards).

Cookies & tracking technologies

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device to remember preferences or help analyse website usage. We use a cookie banner and do not load optional (non-essential) cookies unless you choose to accept them. You can accept or reject categories via our banner, and you can withdraw your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” (where available on the site) or by clearing cookies in your browser.

Cookie categories we use

  • Strictly necessary cookies – required for basic site functionality and security. These cannot be switched off through the banner.
  • Analytics cookies (optional) – used to understand how visitors use our website and to improve performance. We use Google Analytics 4 only after you provide consent for analytics cookies.
  • Marketing cookies (optional) – used to measure advertising performance and build audiences for advertising. We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel only after you provide consent for marketing cookies.

Consent cookies used on our website

When you make a choice in our cookie banner, we store it in cookies such as: analytics_consent and marketing_consent (e.g., “yes” or “no”), so we can remember your preference. These cookies help ensure we respect your choice across pages and visits.

Note: If you reject analytics/marketing cookies, you can still use our website. Some measurement and personalisation features will be limited.

Third-party services (Google Analytics & Meta Pixel)

If you consent to analytics cookies, Google may receive information about your visit (including technical identifiers and usage data) to provide analytics services. If you consent to marketing cookies, Meta may receive information about your visit and interactions to help us measure advertising and create audiences for advertising. These providers may act as independent controllers for certain processing and may transfer data outside the EEA, subject to their safeguards. We encourage you to review the privacy notices of these providers for more information.

Social buttons & embedded content

Our pages may include “Share” buttons (Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) or embedded media (e.g., YouTube videos). These third-party services may collect data about your interaction with our pages. Where applicable, such third-party features may set cookies or use similar technologies, and their processing is governed by their own privacy notices.

Email tracking

Some marketing emails may contain tracking pixels or tracked links that help us understand whether an email was opened or a link clicked. We use this information to improve our communications and measure campaign performance. If you prefer not to receive marketing emails, you can unsubscribe at any time.

Security of data

We maintain appropriate technical and organisational measures—physical, electronic and procedural—to protect the data we hold. However, no method of transmission or storage is guaranteed 100 % secure. Your information may be processed outside Cyprus or the EEA where our service providers operate, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Your rights & controlling your information

You may ask us to:

  • Provide a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct or update inaccurate information.
  • Delete or restrict the processing of your data in certain circumstances.
  • Object to certain processing (including direct marketing).
  • Withdraw consent at any time (this will not affect processing carried out before withdrawal).
  • Transmit your data to another controller (data portability, where applicable).

To exercise these rights, email privacy@cityrealestate.com.cy. We will respond in accordance with applicable data-protection laws (e.g., GDPR).

Cookie choices: You can withdraw analytics/marketing cookie consent at any time via “Cookie settings” (where available) or by clearing cookies in your browser. After withdrawal, we will stop loading optional tracking technologies on your device.

To request permanent deletion of the data you gave us (including any data collected through marketing cookies where applicable), email us with the subject line “DELETE MY DATA” and we will respond in line with applicable legal requirements.

Children's privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe that we have inadvertently received information about a minor, please contact us and we will delete it.
